Rare Breed Beef Topside

Topside joint from our native breed beef. Topside is from the inner muscle back leg making it a lean and fairly tender cut, great for roasting. There is often some fat on the top of the joint, but if you would like us to add a little extra to use when cooking, please add a note at the checkout. If you would prefer a larger joint, please get in touch.

Taste Tradition Meat Delivery Box

Our delivery service allows you to pick a delivery date in advance when you reach the checkout.

Next day delivery is free on orders over £45.

Our deliveries are Tuesday to Friday as standard and we also offer a Saturday delivery as a premium service, but this is unfortunately an expensive option, so it’s much better to try and plan ahead.

Your order will be kept fresh in our insulated boxes and the box can be used as storage for larger cuts if you replace or re-freeze the ice sheets. This comes in very handy when you don’t have enough room in your fridge on busy special occasions.

How to store meat

Alternatively topside makes a great pot-roast or can be braised on a bed of vegetables and stock. Don’t forget to rest your joint for at least 20 minutes before serving.

Product Description

Beef topside is from the rear end of the animal which generally has less fat than other parts. The meat from this area is full of flavour but often needs more care in cooking.

Topside will roast well, particularly when it has been well hung, which is the case with ours. It’s a good idea to bard the joint which involves using an extra layer of fat. Our beef topside is also perfect for slow cooked braising and casseroles.
